Do not listen to THEM

Don’t let them tell you it isn’t important. Don’t let them tell you it isn’t worth fighting for. Don’t let them tell you that by fighting for what you believe in you aren’t acting your age.

From a young age they tell you that you have no rights until you’re an adult, they tell you, that you can’t speak your mind, do as you’re told, don’t question “my” authority. Follow the rules no matter how stupid they may be. They tell you your opinion doesn’t matter because you’re too young, there is no way you could know what you are talking about, because you are so young, you haven’t lived as much as they have.

Once you are an adult, it still doesn’t matter, your opinions don’t mater. You’re still “too young” to know what you are talking about. You’re just acting like a kid, you’re an adult now. Once you hit your 20′s you’d think people would listen to what you have to say, but they still don’t, if you try and stick up for what you believe in, everyone will tell you to just “let it go”, “you’re an adult now, stop acting like a rebellious teenager”, “grow up already”. Why do you focus on things that “don’t mater”, and then these dreadful phrases start popping up out of the mouths of your peers, “what do you expect to do about it”, “You can’t change the way things are”, “You’re wasting your time”.

On the TeeVee they demonize any activist, unless it’s someone mad about a TeeVee show! Look what they did to OWS, Look what they did to the WTO protests in Seattle, look what they do to all the protests, all the activists, they turn them onto criminals, and focus on a small group of people who riot, or cause trouble, and ignore the message, they stomp on that message until it dies. They will beat you down, and beat you down, and beat you down until even you start to think “what’s the point, what can I do” They will fill you with feelings of helplessness, and hopelessness, until you also believe that the people who are younger than you are wasting their time, their energy, on something that they couldn’t possibly change. I mean, look at these kids today, fighting against the banks, fighting against the war, pissed off about income inequality, pissed off about unemployment, pissed off at the cost of living. I mean who do they think they are going to get through to, look at how they riot and shit in public parks, the TeeVee told us we should hate these mooching kids, these welfare babies, these silver spoon fed mommas boys, because that’s who the pissed off youth is, a bunch of rich kids living off daddy’s money, right? That’s what the TeeVee said; the TeeVee told me that sticking up for my rights is a waste of time, sticking up for myself is a waste of time. The TeeVee told me that the adult thing to do is to sit down, shut the fuck up, zone out, and stop caring.  Living pay check to pay check is normal, living in poverty is just a way of life for some people, being arrested for protesting, being beaten for protesting, is normal, so you better not even risk the injury. Not being able to afford medical care is normal. Stop complaining, and be productive. BUY MORE SHIT, the economy is bad, BECAUSE OF YOU, for not buying more shit!  Be a productive member of society by doing what you are told, don’t rock the boat, and don’t BITE the hand the FEEDS YOU!  Blend in, don’t bring attention to yourself, It’s not worth the trouble that it will cause, Sit Down, and Shut UP!

NO! Don’t listen to them! Don’t ever lose the fight; don’t ever let that little fire inside go out. Don’t let them tell you it’s a waste of time, it is never a waste of time. Whatever it is you want to fight for is worth fighting for. Never let anyone tell you any different.

Bill O’Reilly is such a tool! (short rant)

I guess O’Reilly really doesn’t see anything wrong with saying the ”white establishment is now the minority, and the voters, many of them feel the economic system is stacked against them and they want stuff, you’re going to see a tremendous Hispanic vote for pres. Obama, overwhelming black vote for President Obama and women will probably break president Obama’s way”

It’s interesting that Bill O’Reilly can get away with blatant racism and sexism on television. I guess the only reason Hispanic, Black, and Female voters voted for the President isn’t because the Right is a bunch of batshit crazy, nut jobs who want to take our rights away and have no interest in helping or even caring about the lower class, the people that don’t care about progress, they only care about money, the guys who have openly said such things as, a child created from rape is a gift from god and it was supposed to happen, if women didn’t dress so “slutty” they wouldn’t get rapped, they follow Ayn Rand’s ridiculous ”objectivism” philosophy, the same people who refuse to compromise on anything and then bitch about nothing getting done, you know… those people, the Mitt Romneys of the world? Yeah I guess we didn’t vote for them because we “want stuff”, and those guys, the “right” wouldn’t give us stuff, because as a woman I have no actual opinion on politics, I just base my vote on who is going to give me the most stuff, as every woman does for everything, same with black people, and Hispanic people, I guess we aren’t as smart as the “minority white establishment” or as well informed, because we obviously didn’t vote based on policy, nope, we only voted because we want “stuff”. That’s the only reason Romney lost right? Not because he is a flip-flopping incompetent candidate, NOPE, it was ONLY because he would give me MORE STUFF! Give ME a BREAK!!

I can’t believe Bill O’Reilly had the gull to say the left is running wild. He must talk so much he drowns himself out. I can’t think of any other reason the guy would be so dumb to the fact that he is a lying hypocrite who slanders anyone who isn’t exactly like him, all while acting like a whiny bitch on television when someone calls out his bullshit.  Click the link below to see a perfect example.

The far left running wild

A realization

Watching this last and final debate made me realize something today, when older folks talk nostalgically about an America gone by, about an America where small business was king, an America that was a very powerful world superpower, an America that was the very essence of freedom and democracy, I have no idea what America they are talking about, I’ve never know that version of America.  I realized today that I have never lived in an America without Wal-mart, without fast food on every corner, without Fox News, without gun violence or a war on drugs. I have never seen an America not at “war”, I have never known an America that wasn’t paranoid about everything!

Growing up in the 90’s was good times, and I feel nostalgic about my days of yore from time to time, but thinking of that today made me wonder whether or not what I believed to be a “good time for America” really was a good time for America or was I just too young to see anything else? I was much too young to fully understand what was happening in the Middle East, I was too young to understand the implications of high interest bank loans, I was too young to understand the tech boom and dot com bust. Sure, people looked like they were living high on the hog, and understandably so, it’s not so hard to appear rich on the outside when you take out a massive bank loans to pay for things you can’t afford, like McMansions.  Now that I’m older I see the boom of the 90’s as a massive front, it was just a bubble that was going to pop at any second, and I think the only reason anyone still likes Clinton is because that bubble didn’t pop on him.  The front of the 90’s disappeared on September 11th, that day everyone’s insecurities that they had hidden during the 90’s came out in full swing, every day in every city a “terror attack” was going to happen at any second, everyone was on edge. Once the war effort was in full swing sucking up all of that surplus we had in the 90’s everyone realized they had been living in a fantasy world for the past decade. They realized that they didn’t actually have the money they needed to pay for those loans they got, or those credit cards they racked up.  Then the economy tanked, we built up this false sense of security through the 90’s, we build up this “economy” that wasn’t even real, and it all came crashing down us.

This is the America that I have always known, a violent, paranoid schizophrenic nation. I have never known this nostalgic Mayberry America, where there is only one drunk in town and he’s just charming. Nope, that’s not the America I know, the America I know videotapes the drunks and makes reality television out of it, a country where the most dysfunctional rednecks are praised for their idiocy on national radio and television.  I know of America as being the country where money is number one, the rich get richer while the poor wallow in misery at the bottom. Gang violence and non-gang related violence is all the rage now days, and drugs, well don’t even think about doing drugs unless a doctor prescribes them then it’s alright to take all the pain pills, and anti-depression/anxiety/hunger pills you want!  In the America I have grown up in the drunks aren’t just drunks, they are also meth addicted, conspiracy theory obsessed crackpots who will do anything to claw their way up to the “top”, and this is how it has always been. The nostalgic Mayberry America is not real, that America has never existed, it’s all a facade and the more they pump that lie into movies and television the more we start to believe that America really existed. The more we see it the more we long for days gone by, days that never happened, in a world that never existed.

So when I hear politicians spouting on about the “America Dream” and how “America used to be” I think, what the hell are you going on about? I’ve never seen that, no one has ever seen that, or lived in that version of America, that America only exists on movies and in TV, it never has, and probably never will be a reality.  Anyone talking about the “good ol days” has the same problem with nostalgia that I had, only they have yet to realize the great America they remember is just a figment of their childhood imagination, they (just like me) were too young to even understand any of the bad things, so they hold onto those good memories they have and assume the whole world was that way, because that is the only world they knew, it was the only one they could understand.  I’m pretty sure that politicians know this though and use it to their advantage, when they speak of how America used to be they are never very specific about their idea of America, they just leave it as a blanket statement because they know damn well that every single person remembers a time that they felt like they were better off, every single person remembers a happier time, a better America, and when a politician uses key phrasing like “how America used to be” or “return America to her former glory” we ALL think of a different America, we all think or our imagined great America, the America that has never existed.

Hug an Atheist

So I haven’t been writing a whole lot, and there is a reason for that, this blog got crazy for a while, so I’ve been avoiding it. I do have quite a few actual posts to put up though, so look for those in the upcoming weeks.

Anyway, I just came across this Documentary called “Hug an Atheist” that needs funding. I will be donating money tonight, and I really hope you all do the same! The clip for this documentary actually made me cry a little. sometimes It’s really hard to ignore the hate that is geared towards atheists, so having a bit of a compilation was a tad bit overwhelming.

So Please watch the clip, and please donate some monies to this documentary!
