Oreo Pride: The backlash

Christian hate* never ceases to amaze me, one day they are all up in arms about contraception, the next day a TV show, and today it’s all directed towards cookies, and not just any cookie, but Oreos! All of this hate is because of one simple picture. A picture of an Oreo cookie with rainbow filling that said “Support Love”. How could any sane person be against something like that? Well, to the hate filled (they say it’s love filled) Christians in the world it’s all part of the “gay agenda” (whatever the hell that is) and they aren’t going to sit back and watch Oreo corrupt the youth of America with their rainbow cookie of love!   So I decided to go onto Oreo’s facebook page to like the picture, and give my “good for you” comment but then I discovered the blind hate spewing out of these loving Christians mouths and I decided to collect up some of them and share them here because this is insanely comical to me! The hypocrisy of this, (and every similar situation) is hilarious, the best part is, they can’t see how hypocritical this is, they think this behavior is what love looks like!  ’Da FUQ’

First, here is the picture that is causing so much uproar. Now, I can’t seem to find one that says “Support Love” on it, I can only find one that says “Pride”, either way, this is the rainbow cookie. :)

Pride!

That’s it! That’s what they are mad about, a damn rainbow cookie supporting equality and love!

Now for the comments on the Facebook page. I’m going to break these comments into groups and only post some of them. There is literally hundreds of hateful comments on the page that are either exactly like these, or damn similar so I picked out a bunch of the “good” ones.

1. The simple “I dislike you now” people

2. The “stop shoving the gay agenda down my throat” People *Side note, WTF does that even mean? What the hell is this “gay agenda”?

3. The very popular “I don’t hate gay people, I just hate gay people enough to not eat a cookie anymore” people.

4. The “I have values/morals” people

Think of the CHILDREN!

So there you have it, a small selection of the crazy hateful Christians flooding the Oreo page with crazy comments. But don’t fret! Humanity isn’t a total loss, for every one of those shameful remarks there are 5 positive ones. :)

Isn’t it funny the things people get worked up about! I mean come on…. It’s a COOKIE, and not even a real one, it’s a photoshoped Cookie! If anything we should be mad that we can’t eat that delicious looking thing!

*When I say “Christian Hate” I obviously don’t mean ALL Christians, though, if I were to judge solely by the conduct I see displayed online by Christians, it would be easy to assume that all of them hate everything and everyone who isn’t a fundamentalist Christian like themselves.

How is Family Guy STILL on TV?

Seth "smug asshat" Macfarlane

I don’t know why I’m about to blog this, it seems like something that should be a status update on Facebook, but, I don’t care. Seth Macfarlane, that smug asshat, how is he still making TV shows?  I just don’t get it anymore.  Back when Family Guy was first on (before the cancelation) I thought it was funny, and I still think that first season is great, I’ll come across a re-run every now and again and it will make me laugh. But I stand by my opinion when I say Adult Swim should have never picked that show up. After Adult Swim got ahold of Family Guy it got mega popular again and Fox picked it back up and now it’s the dribble it is today.  I would go on, but South Park took care of that so I don’t need to. But what I will say is why is Macfarlane allowed to have three TV shows? All three are mind numbingly horrible, yet they still air new ones every week! All while Fox cancels good programing, like Terranova, House, and they are wrapping up Fringe too (one of my favorite TV shows) and there has also been rumors circulating the net about the possibility of the Simpsons getting canned! REALLY?!  I don’t get it but the only thing I can think of that could possibly be happening is Macfarlane wants more blocks for more crappy TV shows like American Dad and Family Guy, or maybe he wants to make some even more dreadful spinoffs of the other Family Guy characters to go along with the Cleveland Show!  It will be ALL Macfarlane ALL the time! It’s part of Fox’s new plan to give “brash” a whole new meaning!  <see what I did there!>

Plus it kind of makes me feel old and out of touch because I don’t get this “edgy comedy” if you could even call it edgy.  *sigh* It’s time to get nostalgic about TV. Remember back in the day when Fox’s Sunday night line-up was awesome? There was once a time when it was Futurama, Simpsons, and King of the Hill. All three are smart shows. Futurama is arguably the one of the smartest shows on TV, and it is by far the smartest cartoon! Those three shows are also hilarious, and relevant! Now, on Fox, we just have the Simpsons and they seem to be drowning in the Macfarlane cesspool!  Lucky for us we also have Futurama again, because of the exact same reason we have Family Guy, oddly enough. Adult Swim brought back both shows, and I am so happy Comedy Central picked up Futurama, that way chances of it getting canceled again are slim because it’s cable and on CC it doesn’t have to be paired with mind-numbing Macfarlane programing!

The Fry's dog Episode of Futurama makes me cry EVERY TIME! Not a single Macfarlane show has ever made me show any kind of emotion, ever!

Again, I don’t know why I am blogging about this, I guess it’s because my husband was watching Family Guy, then The Cleveland Show, and of course American Dad was on after that and they ended up irritating me. I am also bored and I really don’t feel like drawing (even though I have projects I should be doing)  So, yeah,  that is that I guess. Now I think it’s time for Game of Thrones!
