Our gun problem.

I don’t really have a whole lot to say on the subject, The U.S. has a gun problem and the evidence makes it overwhelmingly obvious. I guess my only thought is, how do ao many people not realize it? How can so many people fraudulently state that we, the U.S. does not have a gun problem, or that even if we did have a gun problem, we need out guns because it’s a right, not a privilege.

This confuses me… it’s also quite scary, and I wonder, will I need to buy a gun when I move back, just to feel safe around these nut jobs? Will that make me a nut job for buying a gun in the name of safety? I feel that these people don’t understand that their paranoia campaign is actually making the country an unsafe, and unstable environment, how they fail to see that, or even recognise a problem is beyond my comprehension.

Here’s a subreddit that is basically a huge list of gun related incidents with new postings every day, because it just doesn’t stop.

March Against Monsanto Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the global March against Monsanto. I will be attending the March here in Rome Italy, I hope everyone gets out and joins the local marches in their area.

This is important, this is something that everyone should care about worldwide, the food that we eat that is supposed to give us nourishment, the environment we live in that isn’t supposed to be poisoned, The small farmers who have been put out of business and sued by Monsanto, and companies like Monsanto. These are the things everyone should care about, and if you haven’t asked yourself this question yet, it’s time to ask this question; “Since when is it okay for our food to be owned and controlled by a major chemical manufacturer?” That in itself should have you outraged, this isn’t just about corporations, this is about long term health of humans, animals, plants, water, air…. the over all ecosystem that we to rely on to survive.

Say NO to Frankenfoods! Stand up for what’s right and get out to a march tomorrow, in your local city, at 2pm!

Here’s a link to event info.

Here’s a video: (There are tons of videos online, everywhere, check out the other ones too)

I’ll have more to say about this later on tonight, or tomorrow sometime when I have more time to type out some thoughts. I feel a good ol rant coming on. And come to think of it, during the election I had a lot to say about the republicans and their BS, but I have a serious lack of writing (at least here) about the Obama admin, I think that’s because I honestly felt like the first half of the first round wasn’t so bad, (minus the bank bailout, still pissed about that)  then I got caught up and distracted with the election just like so many others, and I didn’t have much focus on the BS being carried out by the current administration, the social issues being used as a distraction from other issues, for example.  I guess I figured that they would follow through with the things they said they would do, for some stupid reason,  like closing GitMo, or doing away with the Patriot act, neither of those happened, and that pisses me off to no end, But this… THIS use of drones on American citizens to too fucking much. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? What happened to trials? I guess with how broke the country is they decided why bother with costly trials just blow um up with drones, I’m sure it’s easier and cheaper to treat us all like terrorists, to treat us like the enemy… Yeah.. way better.. way cheaper to shoot first and maybe ask questions later if it’s in the budget right? And don’t any of you for a second think that this wouldn’t be happening right now if Romney was elected, it would still be happening, it doesn’t mater what party is in office, they are all the same. Anyway.. more on this later, I have some social activities to attend to tonight.

Here’s some reading material.

“On Thursday, Pres. Obama signed the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, a bill that the Federal Aviation Administration’s AnneMarie Ternay describes as containing requirements for integrating unmanned aircraft systems and vehicles such as drones into the national airspace starting immediately.

With the president’s approval this week, the FAA has already begun soliciting proposals from cities across the country that are interested in becoming one of six soon-to-be established test sites where drones and UAVs will be sent into the sky as America takes the next step towards accepting the latest generation of aircraft.

The FAA says that locations in over 30 states have already showed interest in the program. Soon the agency will be tasked with picking a mere half-dozen locations so that drones can formally be introduced into official US airspace and not just strips of sky above designated areas.”

Do not listen to THEM

Don’t let them tell you it isn’t important. Don’t let them tell you it isn’t worth fighting for. Don’t let them tell you that by fighting for what you believe in you aren’t acting your age.

From a young age they tell you that you have no rights until you’re an adult, they tell you, that you can’t speak your mind, do as you’re told, don’t question “my” authority. Follow the rules no matter how stupid they may be. They tell you your opinion doesn’t matter because you’re too young, there is no way you could know what you are talking about, because you are so young, you haven’t lived as much as they have.

Once you are an adult, it still doesn’t matter, your opinions don’t mater. You’re still “too young” to know what you are talking about. You’re just acting like a kid, you’re an adult now. Once you hit your 20’s you’d think people would listen to what you have to say, but they still don’t, if you try and stick up for what you believe in, everyone will tell you to just “let it go”, “you’re an adult now, stop acting like a rebellious teenager”, “grow up already”. Why do you focus on things that “don’t mater”, and then these dreadful phrases start popping up out of the mouths of your peers, “what do you expect to do about it”, “You can’t change the way things are”, “You’re wasting your time”.

On the TeeVee they demonize any activist, unless it’s someone mad about a TeeVee show! Look what they did to OWS, Look what they did to the WTO protests in Seattle, look what they do to all the protests, all the activists, they turn them onto criminals, and focus on a small group of people who riot, or cause trouble, and ignore the message, they stomp on that message until it dies. They will beat you down, and beat you down, and beat you down until even you start to think “what’s the point, what can I do” They will fill you with feelings of helplessness, and hopelessness, until you also believe that the people who are younger than you are wasting their time, their energy, on something that they couldn’t possibly change. I mean, look at these kids today, fighting against the banks, fighting against the war, pissed off about income inequality, pissed off about unemployment, pissed off at the cost of living. I mean who do they think they are going to get through to, look at how they riot and shit in public parks, the TeeVee told us we should hate these mooching kids, these welfare babies, these silver spoon fed mommas boys, because that’s who the pissed off youth is, a bunch of rich kids living off daddy’s money, right? That’s what the TeeVee said; the TeeVee told me that sticking up for my rights is a waste of time, sticking up for myself is a waste of time. The TeeVee told me that the adult thing to do is to sit down, shut the fuck up, zone out, and stop caring.  Living pay check to pay check is normal, living in poverty is just a way of life for some people, being arrested for protesting, being beaten for protesting, is normal, so you better not even risk the injury. Not being able to afford medical care is normal. Stop complaining, and be productive. BUY MORE SHIT, the economy is bad, BECAUSE OF YOU, for not buying more shit!  Be a productive member of society by doing what you are told, don’t rock the boat, and don’t BITE the hand the FEEDS YOU!  Blend in, don’t bring attention to yourself, It’s not worth the trouble that it will cause, Sit Down, and Shut UP!

NO! Don’t listen to them! Don’t ever lose the fight; don’t ever let that little fire inside go out. Don’t let them tell you it’s a waste of time, it is never a waste of time. Whatever it is you want to fight for is worth fighting for. Never let anyone tell you any different.

Treat the disease, not the symptom

Here’s my thought of the day. When a person has a cancer, we treat and kill the cancer, we don’t only treat the symptoms. When a society has a cancer, we ignore it and focus only on the symptoms of the disease. We are the problem, we are the disease, look at how quick everyone jumped on their social networks to post about the disease, the media will be quick to turn the disease into a martyr so the next infected person will get that seed planted in their little pink heads, that media seed of fame, the idea their name will live on forever, while the victims fade into obscurity. That seed is the disease, and we plant it every time we sensationalize tragic events.

*More on this thought later*
